About Artwork
Anthesis comes from the Greek anthēsis, meaning “the act of blooming.” In botany, it marks the moment when a flower is fully open, alive, and ready for pollination. This painting captures that fleeting state—not just in nature but in the mind, when it is fully awake, ready to create, and embrace life.
The iris, a recurring symbol in my work, represents growth, transformation, and inner vitality. Its layered petals echo the complexity of thought and feeling, unfolding in a delicate balance of strength and fragility. Through color, texture, and movement, I translate this moment into something tangible—an expression of openness and energy.
Anthesis invites the viewer to reflect on their own moments of bloom, those rare instances when everything aligns, and creativity flows freely. Like a flower in full bloom, this state is brief yet powerful, leaving a lasting imprint.
